WHO WAS WHO
in Plum Township
Venango County, Pennsylvania
Howard Strawbridge, Venango County Historian, produced a series of articles for the Titusville Herald Newspaper, Titusville, PA. Written in the late 1950s, the articles depicted many of the early pioneers of Plum Township. Mr. Strawbridge, who spent a majority of his adult life researching Venango Co. history and early pioneer life, was noted for his very accurate recordings of special events and people. Follow through the different early pioneer histories and become acquainted with Howard Strawbridge, the pioneers he researched and their many related families.
Penny Haylett Kulbacki and Dr. Harry Sharp are transcribing the WHO WAS WHO articles and placing on this site as a tribute to Howard Strawbridge.
Howard Strawbridge willed his historical collection and thousands of photographs to the Venango County Historical Society. Many thanks to the VCHS for their assistance in providing the Who Was Who columns for transcription.
This photo was taken January 4, 1960, and has been made available through the courtesy of the Venango County Historical Society.
Howard, on the right, is doing what he did best - interviewing Percy Proper of Plum Township.
